IDATE presents four major awards to leading global operators

During MWC 2024, a leading European consulting company, IDATE, held the Green All-optical Network Forum. During the forum, IDATE presented four major awards to 19 world’s leading operators.

During MWC 2024, a leading European consulting company, IDATE, held the Green All-optical Network Forum. During the forum, IDATE presented four major awards to 19 world’s leading operators. The awards include:

1. Excellent Practice of Gigabit Broadband Development Award

This award is set to recognize operators with excellent practices in gigabit home broadband service development. For example, operators who introduce FTTR, AirPON, FlexPON+, 50G PON to provide better broadband service with commercial gigabit packages available share great chance to win the award. The final award was presented to 3 operators, including Hong Kong Telecom, China Telecom, Oi Brazil.

2. All-Optical Technology Innovation and Digital Enablement Award

This award is set to recognize operators with excellent practices in all-optical network architecture and technological innovation and application. The valuable practice to win this ward includes simplifying the architecture of metro WDM, largely deploying 400G in backbone network, introducing 800G in pilot or commercial use, optimizing the network architecture by introducing all-optical technologies, such as reducing network layers, or making outstanding achievements in the all-optical private line or private network business to support industry customers’ digital transformation. The final award was presented to 5 operators, including stc Saudi Arabi, China Mobile, Globe Philippines, Summit Communications Limited Bangladesh, Entel Chile, and du UAE.

3. Premium User Experience with Optical Broadband

This award is set to recognize operators who provide high-quality fixed broadband service and deliver premium user experience in the markets. For example, operators who take the lead in the broadband speed test in the local market, evolve the cable network to FTTx, or introduce the FTTR to improve the user experience, will share a great chance to win the award. The final award was presented to 5 operators, including Lounea Finland, China Unicom, Megacable Mexico, Time Malaysia, and Zeop France

4. Leading Sustainable Network Operator

This award is set to commend operators with excellent practices in supporting industry digitalization, energy conservation, and emission reduction. For example, operators who introduce green all-optical technologies such as SDH migration, OXC, and xDSL or cable migration to significantly reduce network energy consumption, will share a great chance to win. The final award was presented to 6 operators, including Türkiye's Turkcell, GTAC Mexico, CelcomDigi Berhad Malaysia, MTN South Africa, Openserve South Africa, and e& UAE.
