MERRIMACK, N.H. -- Ellacoya Networks™, Inc., a leading provider of carrier-class broadband service optimization solutions, today introduced its fourth-generation platform, the Ellacoya e100. The Ellacoya e100 is the next evolution of deep packet inspection (DPI) technology for service providers; the first platform of its kind that can sustain line-rate DPI functionality at 20Gbps speeds and support up to 500,000 active subscribers. It provides fixed line and wireless providers the most scalable means of delivering secure new services and differentiated service plans while ensuring a high quality-of-experience for all users. The product is currently in trials with carrier customers and will be commercially available in March 2007.

The Ellacoya e100 is a carrier-class and carrier-scale network platform that enables providers to effectively identify and manage each packet of network traffic dynamically by subscriber, service type, time-of-day, and more. Together with Ellacoya’s rich suite of software applications, the e100 can: provide granular reports on network usage; manage traffic dynamically with precision; ensure VoIP quality; identity and prevent network threats; and provide the basis for quota management, differentiated service plans and quality-assured premium services (IPTV, VoIP, streaming video).

“The Ellacoya e100 provides a scalable solution for ensuring a high-quality service experience for subscribers in an increasingly complex environment where traffic volume is increasing exponentially and unique new applications are appearing on the network much more frequently,” said Fred Sammartino, vice president of marketing and product management at Ellacoya Networks. “As a result, our customers are able to dramatically increase their return on network investment by deploying this platform for a variety of functions that both save on networks costs and provide the basis for new revenue streams.”
