ANAHEIM, Calif. -- OFC 2002 -- On March 19-21 at the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference inAnaheim, Calif., Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) will discuss for the first timeits plans to release monolithic MEMS-based switch fabric components thatintegrate control electronics to enable position sensing of the micromirror structures. The first two application specific standard products, adual axis Optical iMEMS® mirror element and an Optical iMEMS 1x80 linearmirror array will be targeted at optical metro/regional networkapplications and have projected sample dates in late 2002."As the leading supplier of standard MEMS products, Analog Devicesunderstands the advantages ofoff-the-shelf devices and will be the first to offer this capability to theoptical networking industry,"said Scott Blackstone, optical iMEMS product line director, Analog Devices."Standard optical MEMS products will enable designers to rapidly developMEMS-based optical systems without the added complexity of additional MEMSprocessing and allow them to focus on their value-added optical designs. Our off-the-shelf solutions will significantly reduce time-to-market anddevelopment costs," added Blackstone.Analog Devices Inc.For more information on OFC 2002, please visit: www.nottheofc.com
