SAO PAULO -- New Zealand-based 4RF Communications is introducing its Aprisa family of licensed point-to-point digital access radio solutions to Brazil and other Latin American markets at Telexpo 2004 (2-6 March, Sao Paulo, Brazil). Aprisa provides low to medium capacity point-to-point radio linking with up to 16 Mbps of capacity over distances up to 100 kilometers, making it ideally suited to applications where distance or difficult terrain need to be covered. These include extending connectivity for the expansion of rural fixed telecommunications and mobile networks, and transmission for emergency services and utility networks.

Aprisa point-to-point radios are deployed by operators around the globe expanding Internet, voice and data access to areas where fiber or cable rollout is not viable, or simply impossible due to geographic or economic restraints. They provide robust, reliable long-range connectivity in geographies as diverse as the UK, Poland, Kuwait, Botswana, Australia and Indonesia.

Grant Dow, Chief Executive Officer of 4RF Communications, commented: "The Aprisa solutions have earned an outstanding international track record for their RF performance and quality, and we are seeing a growing level of interest throughout Latin America. This is particularly true of Brazil, which has taken a lead in expanding basic connectivity, and is building an advanced broadband infrastructure. Brazil's vast geographic spread and varied terrain make it an ideal environment for our Aprisa solutions."
