Huawei Launches iFTTR OptiXstar F50, the Industry's First FTTR+X Product for All-Optical Smart Homes

On the basis of FTTR networking, the iFTTR OptiXstar F50 series realizes intelligent FTTR (iFTTR). It supports more smart home applications, such as home storage and Wi-Fi home guard, helping operators provide more diversified smart home services to users.
Since Huawei launched the FTTR home networking solution in 2020, more than 25 operators around the world have released commercial FTTR packages, serving 14 million users. Huawei's FTTR solution provides home users with ultra-gigabit home Wi-Fi experience with whole-house coverage, and also brings business success to operators. The practices of global operators show that FTTR can increase the ARPU by 30%, Wi-Fi rate by 60%, and user satisfaction by 100%. In the gigabit era, home network services such as network storage, smart home, 4K live broadcast, 8K HD video, and VR/AR are booming, posing higher requirements on home network quality in terms of rate, latency, and concurrency. Smart home services face challenges in Wi-Fi network freezing, frequent disconnection, mobile phone memory exhaustion, and OTT cloud storage security concerns. Smart home devices are vulnerable to hacker attacks, and private data such as camera data is under threat. Huawei's next-generation iFTTR OptiXstar F50 product provides innovative features in connectivity, experience, applications, and services to address the preceding challenges in smart home services. Connection upgrade: With the innovative optical+Wi-Fi converged architecture and the latest Huawei Wi-Fi 7 technology, the F50 increases the Wi-Fi rate from 2000 Mbps to 3000 Mbps, and achieves coverage without blind spots. In addition, the F50 supports up to 256 concurrent devices, achieving high-speed networking of smart devices in a whole-house without frame freezing or excessive latency. The device also supports 2.5GE or 10GE network ports on the user side to implement 10 Gbps to the room, ensuring high-speed transmission experience in VR/AR, file download, and cloud services.
Experience upgrade: The F50 virtualizes the entire Wi-Fi network into a super Wi-Fi hotspot, shortens the roaming handover latency from 100 ms of industry average to 10 ms through precise clock synchronization, and ensures zero packet loss during handovers, achieving imperceptible roaming. With excellent Wi-Fi capabilities, the F50 is the first product to obtain the performance certification of the World WLAN Application Alliance (WAA), ensuring premium digital home experience for users.
Smart applications: With built-in storage and computing capabilities, the F50 integrates multiple smart home applications, such as home storage, Wi-Fi home guard, and IoT coffer. By working with storage provides, the F50 provides users with a maximum of 8 TB private storage that supports OneHop backup, intelligent album search, and dedicated bandwidth assurance for intranet and extranet backup, realizing instant photo and video transmission. In addition, the F50 supports dual data backup using operators' cloud disks. The F50 can also detect the movement of indoor people and pets based on Wi-Fi signal fluctuation, protecting home privacy and providing high-precision home guard services.
Service upgrade: Huawei's unique self-bond transparent fiber solution does not rely on professional tools and can be quickly deployed like adhesive tapes. It shortens the deployment time per information point from 30 minutes to 15 minutes. In addition, self-service installation by users is supported, helping operators reduce FTTR installation and maintenance costs.
