Wave7 Names Chief Architect

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Optical access network developer Wave7 Optics, Inc. today announced that Stephen Thomas would join the company as Chief Architect.

“As an acknowledged expert in TCP/IP and Internet technologies with several publications to his credit, Stephen Thomas brings a wealth of invaluable, unique experience to Wave7 Optics,” said Thomas Tighe, president and CEO. “Moreover, his expertise in voice-over-IP and Internet Telephony will enable us to rapidly develop and commercialize our IP-based converged network, effectively overcoming the Last Mile access bottleneck.”

Prior to Wave7 Optics, Thomas served as CTO for TransNexus, an Internet-based communication services company. In this role, Thomas was responsible for all development and technology. Earlier in his career, Thomas served as CTO with AT&T Tridom, a $100M satellite communications provider, where he directed the R&D efforts of products and services for data, voice and video networks.
