Light Reading caught up with Julie Kunstler, chief analyst for Omdia, at the OFC Conference to discuss how advances in PON technology are reducing power consumption while increasing bandwidth. Kunstler also provided an update on the progress of Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program funding distribution at the state level, and why some countries such as Germany are lagging behind in FTTH deployments.
